Additions and removals are flagged as our research evolves — you're never the last to know.

The thesis

Despite recent political controversy surrounding the renewable energy sector, it remains a high-growth industry characterised by investment, predominantly in established wind and solar technologies. The industry also enjoys strong policy support, be it motivated by a desire to achieve energy independence or by decarbonisation goals. According to some estimates, the industry will triple its capacity by 2030, with 80% of that growth coming from investment in solar. In order to compensate for the intermittency of renewable energy, there will also be a huge emphasis on battery energy storage systems to complement this investment in renewable energy generation capacity.

This playlist includes some of the leading players in this rapidly growing industry, including solar developers, equipment suppliers to the solar industry, battery manufacturers and equipment suppliers to wind farm operators. It also seeks to avoid those sectors within the industry that have become commoditised and where industry capacity significantly exceeds anticipated demand.

Key themes

  • Solar array manufacturers
  • Equipment suppliers to the solar, wind and EV industries
  • Battery energy storage system manufacturers and suppliers to utility-scale developers
